Centering Prayer Workshop

Celeste Calabotta, longtime Spiritual Director and leader of contemplative prayer, will offer a session on Centering Prayer, Saturday, February 15th. We will gather for light breakfast and social time at 9:30 a.m. with the program beginning at 10 a.m. and ending by noon. This workshop will first consider the theological and scriptural roots of contemplative prayer. We will also reflect upon important issues in the practice of contemplative prayer such as the definition of prayer, consideration of images of God, and some of the differences and similarities between various practices of contemplative prayer. Then through several sessions of practicing Centering Prayer and sharing our experience of this practice, we will discuss ways to incorporate this method into our ongoing spiritual journeys.
